Model – Group 8

As a group we came together to construct our final model for our tecton walkway. We use a timber frame, with a plastic insert to prevent the wood from absorbing the moisture for the plaster, and sticking to the frame.

Final scheme drawings – Group 8

Following from the physical model making, i have created a 3D computer model of out structure, showing how the tecton walkway will be used as an exhibition space, as well as a mapping and educational monument which leads to people

Casting workshop – Group 8

The castingwork shop was extremely useful, as it informed our design and made us realise a number of issue with our concept. We originally decided to construct an instillation our of pre-fabricated concrete, using the original 12 Tectons as inspiration.

Original Scheme – Group 8

The original scheme was to create a new Tecton instillation which would derive inspiration from the existing Tectons, by abstracting forms for the original structures. The main reason for this would be to educate people on the structures and try

Initial Ideas

Following the visit to Dudley Zoological Gardens each member of Group eight drafted a variety of designs to be explorer and discussed during our review. This allowed us to learn about individual strength the group would have, and what direction

Scheme B working models – Group 4

As previously discussed the scheme was modeled in an effort to create further clarity within the design. The clarity would enable the group to for see any issues and address them, and would also allow the client to better understand

Scheme B technical drawings – Group 4

Once the scheme has been finalised in sketch form within sketchbooks, the group work was divided. The architecture student was given the task of drawing plans and an elevation of the proposed scheme, while the art and design students would
