Love Architecture festival was a nationwide event to promote architecture across a broad range of activities and locations. RIBA West Midlands and the BAA worked with the School of Architecture to organise a design competition for the hub of the Birmingham Branch of the festival.
Students worked alongside the BAA to create the winning design in time for the opening of the festival. A vacant shop unit along a busy city centre shopping mall was converted allowing members of the public to pop in and participate. The students role included initial design concepts, fabrication, signage and graphics, and assisting with the public workshops.
Love Architecture will return in 2013.
