The castingwork shop was extremely useful, as it informed our design and made us realise a number of issue with our concept. We originally decided to construct an instillation our of pre-fabricated concrete, using the original 12 Tectons as inspiration. However through this casting process it became apparent that, the cost and efficiency of using all twelve would be to high, resulting in us possibly condensing the amount of tecton forms that we use to make out instillation.
Another positive to come from the workshop was the exploration of texture. We were giving the resources to model with clay, plastic and resin if needed. The plastic was something that we went on to explore further and it gave the plaster a smooth finish which is a feature that the group wanted to incorporate into the design of the instillation.
