As a group we came together to construct our final model for our tecton walkway. We use a timber frame, with a plastic insert to prevent the wood from absorbing the moisture for the plaster, and sticking to the frame. The plastic also allowed us to give the model a clean smooth texture which gives the client an idea of how the final, to scale model would look and feel. With in the model core, there is a metal mesh which supports the structure, and links to the methods used to construct the 1930’s original structures, which we noticed during our first visit to the zoo.
