To get more of an understanding of how museums function and where the artefacts are stored, we visited the Museum Collections Centre. Here, we were able to view various artefacts from different exhibitions and time periods.
During the session at the Collections Centre, we participated a task that involved identifying and analysing some of the artefacts. For the task, we had to come up with s0me questions about the artefact and then separate them into two categories; context and object.
The artefact our group worked with was a 18th Century figurehead.
This method of analysing the artefacts something that we will apply we reviewing the artefacts and painting for the Mini Museum.
