Modern Gazetteer – Digbeth First Friday installation

Modern Gazetteer have been offered a fantastic opportunity to be part of the Digbeth First Friday event in February 2017. We will be curating and exhibiting a small sample of 60 models alongside an augmented reality installation at K4 Architects gallery space, where themes of the city and our module will be positioned critically to guests. The event will take place on the 3rd February 2017, where we look forward to welcoming some familiar faces.

Below outlines the proposed setup for the exhibition, which will see 60 models spread throughout the space with augmented reality markers placed alongside. There will be a live webcam loop of the installation projected onto the window of the gallery space, displaying the augmented reality models sitting alongside the physical artefacts. The idea with the installation is to create an immersive and dynamic installation, where guests are encouraged to interact with past (lost) and present Birmingham monuments. There will be a desktop augmented reality setup in the centre of the room, allowing guests to move the markers and explore the scanned/ modelled buildings in real time.
