Victorian House

Victorian House

Our first experiment was to look at making an existing model zero carbon. In the form of a Victorian House, below are the systematic steps we took to achieve this;

1. Wall Construction
2. Roof Insulation
3. Glazing
4. Heating profile
5. Lighting profile
6. Infiltration
7. Energy Source
8. Renewable Energy

We found that by having a strategy and order to the development of a model it became easier to identify where improvements could be made, as well as making sure that there was nothing missed. This order brought on a lot of debate in terms of whether the results would alter if changed and how steps were needed to work together to provide maximum results. The first experiment was certainly a success.

    Was certainly successful, carbon emissions well below zero all round. Still plenty of work to do to learn IES.
