Glossary Term: Neo Classicism
Neo Classicism refers to a movement based on the revival of Classical styles. There was a particular focus on the styles of Rococo and Baroque. The style originated in 18th century Rome When Pompeii and Herculaneum was rediscovered. Neo Classicism is a style with simple geometric forms, it is graceful uncluttered and encourages the use of clean elegant lines. Popular examples of Neo Classical Architecture in the UK is the Home House (London), Somerset House (London) and Buckingham Palace (London).
