To communicate our concept for Scene 4.ii we created a number of models, which helped us to develop the concept further and to be able to think in more detail about how exactly the stage set will be finalised and created.
CONCEPT MODEL (not to scale)
By hanging sheer fabric from the lighting rig above the sightline of the audience, another layer of depth is added to the stage set, while also providing space for the chorus to stand behind and cast shadows.

FINAL MODEL (Scale 1:25)
Our final model is still in development but we have progressed it forwards by creating a ringed frame that the fabric hangs from, which creates more layers and flexibility in terms of positioning of the panels…
(This final concept was reached through a collaboration with the group who are designing the set for the scene that happens just before ours – they too wanted to use lighting and fabric to create an atmosphere on stage).
