Innovative Urban Lighting- Week 2 Group 2- Inspiration for lighting as an attraction

We established early on that the site is well lit during the evening due to the surrounding buildings, Curzon B extension and University Locks. The new buildings and updated public realm means that the site is well lit. Bearing this in mind we decided that we would steer away from practical/ function lighting but rather have a lighting installation which has a artistic and attraction approach.

Going forward, we thought due to the large expanse of canal water it would be nice to play with reflection and lighting such as the Mirror Mirror installation at the V&A. We imagine that the lighting installation will create more of a delight to a regular commuters route and hopefully encourage people to come and dwell within the space.
