BHM CO\\ABORATIVE LABORATORY:
is an award-winning interdisciplinary design and research initiative within the Birmingham School of Architecture & Design. Our brick we used to test whether they would fire without exploding, exploded.
This was a hand thrown brick but we had sand inside of the brick which caused it to fail. We didn’t realize that having sand accidentally inside would cause this. Some of our other bricks didn’t have sand in but have possible air pockets and were accidentally fired, hopefully they wont explode.
