Digital Fashion/ Task 1b- lesson 1 /Neerij

Abstract Drawing Workshop ran by Nathan.

This workshop was set to everyone to free us up from any constriants and relieve the stress this helped us get all relaxed and ready for the next step.  From point of view as an architect this seemed slightly strange and the beggining but actually turned out to be an entertaing  experience which allowed me to quickly sketch without worrying about details and correct scales.

I think it was quite good because in future, i always go straight into the design and sketch after, but by doing this exercise it makes me think how important being freehand is and how it can inspire your designs.

This Warm Up was a simple exercise to  loosen us up through the shouting of random numbers to draw between without writing the numbers on the paper but thinking in your head.

After this task took place, we then were told to draw our peers in order to understand how fashion industry portray their ideas, this was something different to what the architects would do. Im not use to applying colour on paper straight away, but throughout this exercise we just kept applying colour every 1 minute. I’m use to straight lines and black and white. I find it quite hard to draw whats in front of me as I get nervous and put on the spot, i find it much easier to draw from pictures and take my time on it, but with this we were given less than a minute to sketch that person using different techniques.

Drawing the silhouettes of the people first then slowly to change colours and applying shading and selecting areas to do in more detail.

I found this very entertaining ,funny but creative.I felt like a child again!

Using 3 colour tones we initially drew the outline and then picked out light and dark areas of the model
