BHM CO\\ABORATIVE LABORATORY:
is an award-winning interdisciplinary design and research initiative within the Birmingham School of Architecture & Design. We create and co-produce projects that engage with the dynamic context of our city and explore the extremities of artistic disciplinary boundaries – all through an ongoing process of collaborative practice
We completed the 1:20 model in this session, adding support for the card frame in the corners and also vertical support so that the frame was sturdy. We then proceeded to make a larger scale model to understand how the forces were working and how the materials would react at the larger scale. We discovered that the aluminium strips had a greater impact than we had anticipated and we adapted the design.
