In May 2006 Trustees introduced a policy which stipulated that the use of UPVC for windows and doors would not be permitted on properties in Bournville Village Conservation Area, Bournville Tenants Conservation area, Bournville Works Housing Society Area, Laurence Court, Meadow Rise/Harvey Mews and the Trust’s rented stock. However since 2006, technological advances have been made in the field of UPVC which has resulted in improvements in the aesthetic qualities of windows and much improved environmentally friendly manufacturing systems while maintaining the essential high security standards.
