Students studies CAD/CAM techniques from industry manufacturing of aluminium cladding systems and use this as a basis to work with visual artists that is developing a site-specific sculptural façade to go on the external wall of Eastside Projects, a leading independent art gallery in the heart of Digbeth. Peter Nencini and James Langdon are two prominent visual artists that work with graphics, sculptural objects and typography/press. The collaboration engaged students working across multiple disciplines in order to appreciate alternative design process required to complete the a prototype.
Explorative artefacts created by the students became part of Eastside’s Production Show: phase 2 exhibition.
