During the 3D Printing workshop held within the print room – also home to laser cutting – I spotted a large pile of laser cutting off-cuts which created interesting patterns. This inspired me more than the initial 3D Printing as the offcuts portrayed the elements of process, showing all of the inricate pieces that get cut, which will usually get lost within a final model when it is all assembled.
After choosing an array of the A1 sheets we placed and photographed the offcuts in a range of sequences, which I then edited to create a visually pleasing art-piece.
