Week 7’s session was screen printing. Before sharing our individual work and putting it all together to create the final article, we attended a screen printing workshop to see other ways of printing. We were taken through using the basic materials and machinery, as well as safety and booking times.
We did some screen printing examples to get our head around how the process works. Afterwards, Tom showed us how to create interesting and abstract prints by using the photocopier. You can create unique forms by moving and smudging objects along the machine as it copies. By changing the colours and contrast, these can be transformed into cool and unique abstract art pieces.
