Birmingham Production Space (BPS) is a proposal, an idea, and an opportunity for a national centre for the production of art, design and manufacturing. The proposition is ambitious and necessary; drawing on Birmingham’s industrial heritage of ‘making’ whilst positioning the city as a key centre of cultural production. The city requires an infrastructural facility, generating a focus for its vibrant art scene and providing creative and physical links between this, the regional creative industries and local manufacturing.
The proposal is developed by Ruth Claxton (Eastside Projects), Sean O’Keeffe (Capsule), Alessandro Columbano and Mike Dring from Birmingham School of Architecture (BCU).
