BHM CO\\ABORATIVE LABORATORY:
is an award-winning interdisciplinary design and research initiative within the Birmingham School of Architecture & Design. We create and co-produce projects that engage with the dynamic context of our city and explore the extremities of artistic disciplinary boundaries – all through an ongoing process of collaborative practice
After designing the panel on CAD, and doing some card models of it, we needed to test how the design would work with the folds, as well as how flexible it is. We had left a gap between the circles and the edge of the panel, however this gap was not big enough and so when folding these parts did not fold. This informed us that we need to leave a bigger gap when we scale up our design 1:1.
