Testing the first piece of Aluminium on the CNC Machine with the New cutting tool.
Our first concept idea coming to life although there were a few hiccups which would need improving for the next test which are listed below,
1. Bending the thick 3.6mm Aluminium was a problem as the ‘engraving tool’ on the CNC kept breaking so the bends had to be bent without and notching on the Aluminium.
2. Bonding the Aluminium to the pivoting pipes (without an aluminium welder) was also a problem and required some skillful clamp work.
Below is the First Test Prototype which represents the form of our concept model and provides us with a few questions to answer in the next stage of design.
